What is the population of Elmley Castle ?
I was interested to see the historical information on the population of Elemley castle here:
http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/data_theme_page.jsp?u_id=10333623&c_id=10001043&data_theme=T_POP
It started me wondering what the current population of Elmley Castle is?
I was told my some knowledgeable person a while ago, that you can estimate the population of a village by multiplying the number on the electoral register by 1.5.The last time I did this , Elmley came out at 660 . The complete register may only be obtained at Wychavon these days, and no longer “hanging in the church porch or P.O.”. This is because some folk have availed themselves of the opportunity to “opt out”.
