Poem About Elmley

Dear Editor,

I came across the website for Elmley Castle.com today and was very impressed.
E
lmley Castle is a place very dear to my heart where i have spent many happy times, I am related to the Coggins family and now live in Lancashire.
Anyway, some time ago I wrote a poem about the village and i am emailing it you and if you want to use it on your website, feel free.

Yours faithfully,
Louise Morgan (Miss)

ELMLEY CASTLE.

Bredon Hill
Ascending to the heavens,
Rolling around you,protecting,
Nestling,nuzzling,nurturing,
Caressing,comforting,cherishing,
Constant.

The Village.
Ensconced within those mothering arms,
Slumbering,reposing,resting,
Valley of elegance,
grace and beauty,
Dwellings diversely dotted,
Disparately.

St. Mary’s Church.
Permanent in her firmness,
Steadfast in her faithfulness,
A glorious testament
To the people, place and
Creator.

Village Pond.
Lovingly restored, replenished,
A vision of calm, peace and serenity,
Reflective,responsive,retiring,
Conserving, fostering, begetting
Life.

Village Green.
Most generous benefaction
For the children, for all time,
Hosting, harbouring, heartening,
Whether man, beast or fowl,
Cardinal.

Elmley Castle.
Perpetual, permanent,

Time has changed you, aged you,
But the quintessential you still lingers
Peacefully through they years,
Sedulous.
