The Elmley Castle Beer & Cider Festival is coming soon. (2nd, 3rd and 4th of May)

We will be showcasing a selection of the best beers and ciders from local breweries, offering freshly cooked BBQ food and we even have a visit from a local group of Morris Dancers at 1:30pm on Monday the 4th!

Real Ales

                 1 Windrush Ale (North Cotswold Brewery) 3.6% ABV

CAMRA Champion Beer of Warwickshire 2012

A thirst quenching amber coloured session bitter, brewed with English Challenger and First Gold hops for a traditional taste. A malty slightly sweeter palate.

 2 Hill Climb (Prescott Ales) 3.8% ABV

A wonderfully fruity and refreshing IPA. Cascade and Bobeck hops are combined with Maris otter pale malt and Torrified wheat to create an awarding winning session beer.

SIBA voted Hill Climb its 2012 Regional & National Champion for Standard Bitters.

 3 Pure Gold (Purity Brewing Co) 3.8% ABV

A refreshing golden ale with a dry and bitter finish. Brewed with English Maris Otter, Caragold and Wheat malts, plus Hallertau Northern Brewer, Bobeck and Hereford Goldings hops. Winner of nine awards.

 4 Saddleback Best Bitter (Slaughterhouse Brewery) 3.8% ABV

An amber coloured conversational bitter with a distinctive ‘Challenger’ hop flavour. Their best selling bitter.

 5 Moreton Mild (North Cotswold Brewery) 3.8% ABV

A classic dark mild ale with a nutty palate.

 6 Mad Goose (Purity Brewing Co) 4.2% ABV

Mad Goose is a zesty pale ale with a smooth and citrusy finish. Brewed with English Maris Otter, Caragold and Wheat malts, with Hallertau Northern Brewer bittering hops and Cascade and Willamette aroma hops. Winner of five awards.

 7 Codger (Cotswold Spring Brewery) 4.2% ABV

A dry, crisp, chestnut, perfectly balanced beer with a subtle hoppy finish.

 8 Golden Fleece (Cotswold Lion Brewery) 4.4% ABV

An IPA, packed with citrus grapefruity flavours. The perfect beer to accompany breakfast. Cuts through any spicy food and cleans the palate.

 9 Boar D’Eau (Slaughterhouse Brewery) 4.5% ABV

A blonde bitter brewed with 100% lager malt to produce a clean taste and a bright very pale colour and long hoppy finish.

 10 Pure UBU (Purity Brewing Co) 4.5% ABV

Pure UBU is their strongest and darkest beer, a distinctive, full flavoured beer with a sweeter finish. Brewed with English Maris Otter, Crystal, Black and Wheat malts, with Hallertau Northern Brewer and Cascade hops. Winner of seven awards.

 11 Butty Bach (Wye Valley Brewery) 4.5% ABV

This full-bodied, smooth and satisfying premium ale is burnished gold in colour, and certainly has made a few friends in its time – including the judges at The Great Welsh Beer Festival, where it has been crowned ‘Beer of the Festival’ on three occasions!

It is brewed using Maris Otter and Crystal malts, flaked barley, malted wheat, and locally grown Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops.

 12 Budding Pale Ale (Stroud Brewery) 4.5% ABV

Champion Beer of Gloucestershire 2006 and 2008

Very popular pale ale with a grassy bitterness, sweet malt and luscious floral aroma. Fuggles used as the main bittering hop – then late hopped for a luscious floral aroma. Their biggest selling beer!

 13 Hung Drawn N’Portered (North Cotswold Brewery) 5.0% ABV

SIBA Wales and West Champion Ale 2014 / CAMRA West Midlands Champion Porter 2014 / North Cotswold CAMRA Ale of The Festival 2014

Strong, dark treacle coloured porter, with Bramling Cross hops and a malty finish. An ale that harks back to 18th century London. Descended from brown beer, porter is a well hopped beer made from dark roasted malt.

 14 Grand Prix (Prescott Ales) 5.2% ABV

Pale, crystal, roasted and chocolate malts are combined expertly with Fuggles, Northdown and Goldings hops to create a rich and smooth strong ale.

A double award winning ale in 2012; SIBA winner, Wales and West, and Gold CAMRA strong bitters winner, Gloucestershire.

 

Real Ciders

 15 Happy Daze Cider (Gwynt y Ddraig) 4.5% ABV

Fruity, apply aroma, well balanced finish. A light and very easy to drink medium cider.

 

 16 Two Trees Perry (Gwynt y Ddraig) 4.5% ABV

A pale, fruity perry with an aroma of fruit and a hint of honey on the palate.

 17 Farmhouse Scrumpy (Gwynt y Ddraig) 5.5% ABV

Golden medium cider with a refreshing apple aroma. Smooth balanced flavour that has a fresh, crisp sharpness.

 18 Black Dragon (Gwynt y Ddraig) 6.5% ABV

Renowned and award winning cider rich in colour, body and flavour with a fresh, fruity aroma.
