The oldest bell in the tower dates back to 1420 and bears the Latin inscription:

Another bell dates back to 1620 and bears the inscription:
GOD SAVE OVR KING

APRILL THE 7 ANNO 1620
While the names on the gravestones in the Churchyard are slowly lost by decades and centuries of weathering, the names on the bells are still crystal clear:
Thomas Powney , Edward Cvll, Richard Taylor, Matthe Bagley, W.G. Sinclair Snow, Lady Davies, Benjamin Wintle, EJ Rhodes, T. Blizzard, W. Crabb.
If you sponsor a bell your name, details about you and any message you want to leave to the future residents of Elmley Castle can be inscribed on the bell and your generous donation will be remembered for the next 500 years or more!
Option 1: Sponsor an entire bell – £6,500
Name the bell
Your name and inscriptions of your choice anywhere on the bell, visit to the Foundry to see your bell being cast
Option 2: Sponsor half a bell – £3,750
Your name and inscriptions of your choice on one side of the bell, Visit to the Foundry to see your bell being cast
Option 3: Sponsor a quarter of a bell – £2,000
Your name and inscriptions of your choice on one quarter of the bell, Visit to the Foundry to see your bell being cast
Option 4: Sponsor a name on a bell- £1,000
Your name and a short inscription on a section of a bell.
